A non-exhaustive list of all the stuff I do

I am primarily a freelance features journalist working in the broad spectrum of culture.

In the past I’ve covered music, politics, art, drugs, environmental issues, theatre, technology, digital trends, mental health, psychology, anthropology, and other general weirdness.

I've reported from Glastonbury music festival, spent a day making smokable ayahuasca with its inventor, and interviewed a whole lot of scientists, politicians, experts, and creatives of all stripes and descriptions.

I have by-lines in VICE, Rolling Stone, Crikey, Urban List, Pedestrian.TV, POPSUGAR, Thrillist, Tone Deaf, SBS, and Mixmag UK to name a few.

From 2020 to 2024 I worked in-house with the Val Morgan Digital team, first as Branded Features Producer and then as News and Culture Editor at The Latch.

Drugs Wrap

I am the founder and editor of Drugs Wrap, a weekly Substack newsletter covering drug policy and related news from across Australia and around the world. In my capacity as editor, I was a frequent guest on Nick Wallis' Enpsychedelia radio show on 3CR.

Drugs Wrap ran for two years and will, one day, return.

Copywriting

I am also a freelance copywriter and worked for two years in-house as a full-time Brand Writer for the environmental cleaning products startup, Koh. You can see more examples of my copywriting work here.

Personal

I was born in Brisbane, but raised in the UK and have a confused accent as a result.

I have a BA in English Literature and Language from the University of Nottingham and an MA in International Relations from King's College London.

I have taught politics in Norway, sexual education in Zambia, and written and directed my own play at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

I am currently working through the second draft of my debut novel.
